A general rule of thumb is that a permit will be required if structural alterations are required or if the general living area of the home is changed. This is true for bathroom design, a kitchen makeover, or other remodeling services. Learn more if you will need a work permit for your remodel project.

It is our responsibility as your design-build contractor to handle any necessary permits and design. The permitting process has become more complex over time because of changing laws and regulations. Learn more.

I only have some ideas for the space, can you help me figure out a plan?
There are many details that go into a remodeling project. We will walk you through the steps and create a plan customized for you and your home. Contact us to schedule a free consultation and create a proposal for your project.

What are work schedules and rules for household access during the job?
Every project and customer is unique! During our initial consultation and proposal, we will include a proposed plan for work schedules that accommodates your needs. Each project will vary with the type and scope of work being completed. Our goal is to establish a plan that minimizes disruptions of your ongoing household activities as much possible.

Will I be able to request or make changes during the project?
Yes! We create a safe and open conversation throughout the project so please let us know of any modifications or changes. If changes are considered to be major and outside the original proposed scope of work we will provide a modified change order for price and time adjustment before anything is completed.

Will the project be noisy, dirty or in the way?
Construction tends to be noisy by nature. There will be a fluctuation of noise and dirt at varying levels throughout the home renovation process. We will give you advance notice prior to any particularly noisy or dirty phases, specifically, concrete cutting, tile cutting, floor sanding, etc. so that you can plan your days accordingly. Drywall installation and sanding will create a lot of very fine dust for a few days. We do our very best to seal off the rest of the house, but a little dust will always get through. It’s a good idea to throw a plastic sheet over nearby sensitive items like electronics or fine furniture during this phase.

How long will my home renovation project take?
Each home remodel is unique and custom so after our free initial review we will be able to provide a complete project breakdown. The duration of your project depends on multiple aspects, including size of the renovation project, scope of work and materials/finishes used. We will ensure that a pre-approved project schedule is agreed upon before any work is started.

Can I use my home and space during remodeling?
If you are considering a complete house remodel, you will most likely need to find other living arrangements during the construction period. Most of our remodeling projects are structured to minimize turnaround time, from tear down to completed project, so that you are not inconvenienced any longer than necessary. In just about every other type of home remodeling project, you should be able to remain in your house.

How will I be kept informed about the progress of my project?
You will have direct access to your project manager as well as a third-party project management software that you can monitor progress, see videos and picture updates, send notices, make payment and manage your project. We make full use of today’s modern computer-based tools to manage your project and keep you updated. When completed, we do a final project walkthrough to ensure every detail of your project is handled to your complete satisfaction.

Do you offer sustainable or green design-build services?
We are familiar with a number of green building practices and solutions that can give you a home that is more energy efficient, sustainable, healthier and safer for you and your family.
